The exhibition will feature paintings and drawings by three Egyptian artists: Amina Salem, Hend El-Falafly and Klay Kassem


Blossoming Inspirations, an exhibition with three artists, Amina Salem, Hend El-Falafly and Klay Kassem, will open at Al-Kahila Gallery on Tuesday 23 August.

Salem is an artist whose oil works are centered on women’s challenges and emancipation. She studied mass communications but pursued her passion for the arts afterwards.

Her pieces often mix patterns and calligraphy framing strong female characters.

El-Falafly’s first solo was titled Seven Sins and was exhibited in Dubai in 2013.

She has also participated in collective exhibitions in Egypt, in Austria (in 2010), in Italy (in 2004) and Cyprus (2010).

Falafly was the first prize winner in drawing at the 22nd Salon of Young Artists, a major event for young and emerging artists held annually in Egypt.

She has a particular interest in Egyptian society, which she portrays through pencil drawings.

Kassem graduated from the faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria, and holds an MA and PHD in arts.

His work was exhibited in over 48 exhibits Egypt, as well as a number of international ones in Muscat, India, Paris.

He won a State Encouragement Award in 2015, and is the recipient of eight other national awards, including first prize at Nagy Salon in 1999 and the Grand Prize in painting at the Port Said Biennale in 2011.

Programme:
The exhibition opens on Tuesday 23 August at 7pm, and will run until 1 September.
