Zamalek playmaker Ibrahim could make lengthy-injury comeback against Contractors
Zamalek attacking midfielder Mohamed Ibrahim is likely to make his comeback from injury after being named in the squad for the Egyptian league fixture against Arab Contractors for the first time in more than four months.
After sustaining a foot injury in a Champions League group game in July against eventual winners Mamelodi Sundowns, Ibrahim was forced to miss the remainder of Zamalek's campaign at a moment when the 24-year-old was starting to once again prove instrumental for his side.
The flamboyant foward hadreturned to his Cairo Giants in January 2015 followingan unsuccesful short stint at Portugal's Maritimo in 2014, managing only eight appearances without scoring or assisting a single goal.
He was unlucky to be dealt such an injury blow shortly after finding top gear and getting back amongst the goals, having netted four times and registered as many assists since the start of May 2015.
Zamalek, with a depleted African squad, were unfortunate to lose Ibrahim's servicesin the latter stages of the Champions league, due to the release of several players in the summer.
With Ibrahim's return, Zamalek manager Mohamed Salah should have no selection problems in his attacking department, which includes playmakers Shikabala, Ayman Hefni and Stanley Ohawuchi alongside the injured Mostafa Fathi.
Egypt Cup holders Zamalek are currently ninth of the league standings on 14 points, 12 adrift of leaders and defending champions Ahly who played four games more.
