A Russian delegation will visit Cairo airportbetween 18 and 20 January toinspect security procedures,German DPA news agency reported on Wednesday.
The delegation's inspection will be the final Russian security check before flights are resumed between Moscow and Cairo, the agency said.
In December, Russian President Vladimir Putin told Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi that Russian flights between Moscow and Cairo would resume soon, the Egyptian presidency said in a statement.
Russia halted flights to Egypt a week after a passenger jet crashed in the Sinai Peninsula in October 2015, killing all 224 people on board, most of whom were holiday-makers.
Shortly after the crash, the Islamic State militant group claimed it had downed the plane with a bomb, though Egyptian authorities have not yet confirmed the cause of the crash.
