Shikabala scored one goal and provided the second to hand Zamalek a comfortable 2-0 victory over Wadi Degla

Zamalek wizard Mahmoud Abdel-Razek ‘Shikabala’ set up another amazing display leading his side to a 2-0 win over their hosts Wadi Degla, on Friday, in day 14 of the Egyptian Premier League.

He opened the scoring in the 30th minute and deliveredthe second for Hassan Mostafa, 65, to extend Zamalek’s lead at the top.

The Whites had an enthusiastic start of the game but the Degla’s keeper Haytham Mohamed remained untested until the half-hour mark.

Shikabala received a long-ball to dribble past a defender and nudge an amazing lob over the keeper to spark the fans in the stands who were sorely missing the action in this first half.

But the league leaders failed to improve after the break and Degla seemed the better and most determined side on the pitch.

They would have scored when Ashour El-Taqi made a brilliant chip ball over keeper Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed only to be denied by the bar.

The Whites felt the heat and itseemed to spur them on and just seconds later, Shikabala sparkled on the right flank and delivered a precise cross to Moustafa who made a diving header to double the lead just after the hour mark.

Shikabala made the rest of the game his own showpiece producing some of his amazing skills and could have even scored the third after eliminating three defenders and chipping the ball over the keeper, again, but he was denied by the bar.

The Whites number 10 has now moved clear on top of the scorers’ chart with 9 goals and it seems he is all warmed-up ahead of the Cairo derby next Thursday.
