Rage in many governorates across the nation has been intensifying on Monday, with clashes ‎between protesters and Central Security Forces (CSF) ongoing in Cairo and in other Egyptian cities.

In Suez, where confrontations with police have been exceptionally violent since the January ‎‎25 Revolution, security forces faced off with people showing support for the Tahrir demonstrators.‎

El-Shohada (Martyrs) Street saw 30 vehicles destroyed and 20 suffer the effects of teargas.‎

Confrontations in Suez with military forces started in the early hours of Monday morning and ‎lasted for quite a while. ‎

According to eyewitnesses, Al-Ahram’s Arabic site reported, a group of armed people threw ‎Molotov cocktails at the premises of the national security apparatus. ‎

Conversely, in Tanta, a host of demonstrators saved a policeman and an army soldier from being beaten byhotheads, as a protest march was roaming the streets. ‎

In Grand Mahalla, civilians prevented some people from breaking into the police station ‎and kept chanting “peaceful, peaceful,” in an attempt to avoid bloodshed. ‎

Elsewhere, hundreds of MenoufiyaUniversity students held a protest march in the afternoon, ‎deploring “police brutality and excessive force”. ‎

They also called on the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), which has been ruling ‎the country on an interim basis since the overthrow of former president Hosni Mubarak, to ‎hand over power.‎

TheMenoufiyastudents said they will carry on demonstrating to support protesters in Tahrir ‎Square. ‎

Other protests marches took place inIsmailiyaandSharqiyain solidarity with the Tahrir ‎protesters.

The bloody Tahrir confrontations broke out on Saturday after police forces tried to forcibly ‎dispersed a small sit-in.‎According to Reuters, the total death toll from the last three days of violence has reached at ‎least 33, while the number of injured has been put at approximately 1,500.‎
