Morocco's Fath Union Sport secured a semi-final berth in the Confederation Cup with a 5-4 penalty shootout win over Tunisian side Sfaxien following a 1-1 aggregate draw.

Going into the return leg with a 1-0 disadvantage from the first leg, hosts Sfaxien brought the tie level through a 23rd-minute spot kick from Karim Aouadhi.

With the aggregate result tied at 1-1, both teams then headed to penalties, with visitors Fath eventually emerging as the winners in Sfax.

Another team to secure a Confederation Cup semi-final spot was South Africa's Supersport United, who advanced on the away-goal rule at the expense of Zambia's ZESCO United.

Following a 0-0 first leg draw in Pretoria, the Zambians took the lead this time in Ndola through John Chingandu as early as the fourth minute before Thuso Phala equalised for Supersport 30 minutes later.

David Owino then restored ZESCO's lead five minutes after the break before Phala came again to score in stoppage time what proved to be the qualifying goal.
