Egyptian squash stars Nour El Sherbini and Raneem El Welily will meet in an all-Egyptian final at the World Championship in Manchester after beating Nour El Tayeb andCamille Serme respectively on Saturday.
El Sherbini edged closer to a third straight title after beating fellow Egyptian El Tayeb 3-2 in an exciting semi-final duel.
The world number 1 needed a decider to go through, overcoming world number 8 El Tayeb 3-2 (11-2, 8-11, 10-12, 11-5 and 11-0) in 63 minutes.
"It was a very tough game, Nour is playing so well this season, and has beaten so many top players," El Sherbini told the tournament's official website.
"After the first I knew she was going to come back, so I had to make sure I kept pushing till the end."
El Welily strolled to a 3-0 win over France'sSerme (11-7, 11-9, 11-7) in 39 minutes.
"Happy to be through today. It's never easy against Camille," El Welily said.
"I have been wanting this title so much so badly in the past, it didn't work out, so no pressure this time, I'm just trying to enjoy every second of it."
She is bidding for a third consecutive crown, having won the 2015 and 2016 editions in Kuala Lumpur and Gouna respectively. El Welily is eyeing her maiden triumph.
