Art Alert: Hady Boraey's paintings at Cairo's Art Talks gallery
Ahram Online, , Tuesday 23 Jan 2018
This is the artist's third solo at Art Talks, as he picks up momentum on the art scene

Hope is a Traveller, Hady Boraey’s latest solo exhibition, will open at Art Talks on 30 January.

With the story of Adam and Eve in mind, the paintings explore stories with themes of separation, exile from a homeland, longing for a lover, desires, and the hope that accompanies all these emotions.

“Years and places do not dim the eagerness of those who want to unite, unconsumed passions fuel our train of feelings; we might repress them for the sake of peace but the inner fire never dies in dreamers. The landscape of human emotion changes but the hope for longing is a constant in the journey,” the exhibition statement reads.

The artist, who lives and works in Alexandria, was born in Beheira in 1984 and received both his BFA (2005) and his MFA (2011) from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Alexandria.

He has participated in over 40 group exhibitions in Egypt and abroad. This exhibition is Boraey’s third solo at Art Talks, after Beyond Borders in 2014, and Towards the [un]KNOWN in 2016.

Boraey received the medal of appreciation from the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in addition to several other awards, including from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria and the Ministry of Culture.

Programme:
The exhibition opens on 30 January and runs till 25 February
Art Talks, 8 El-Kamel Mohamed St., Zamalek, Cairo
