The Association of Arab Culture in Austria organised a charity concert, paying homage to two faces of the Egyptian Revolution Ahmed Harara and the late Mena Daniel

President of the Association of Arab Culture in Austria Mustafa Abbas invited Egyptian and Arab communities living in the central European country to a charity concert whereby proceeds would be allocated for the benefit of two political activists of the Egyptian Revolution.

Opening the ceremony, the president chose Ahmed Harara, who lost his sight during the Egypt’s 18-day uprising and its aftermath, along with the late Mena Daniel, who died on 9 October as a result of the bloody clashes at Maspero.

An oriental orchestra performed some of Egypt's beloved musical classics dating back to the early 20th Century. Female members of the association afterwards held a lavish dinner for all the guests. The event’s proceeds amounted to nearly 10,000 euros, which will be divided between Harara as a symbolic gift and Mena Daniel's family.
