Egyptian prosecutors referred on Tuesday TV presenter Reham Saeed along with members of her show's production team to criminal court on charges of inciting child abduction and human trafficking.

According to a source in the prosecution, investigations revealed that Saeed and her crew arranged to have two children kidnapped with the aim of shooting an episode on child abduction for Saeed's TV programme Sabaya El-Kheir that was aired last month.

The anchor and the other codefendants face charges of "inciting to abduct two children, human trafficking, and broadcasting false news that would disrupt public security and peace."

Saeed has denied the accusations.
