On 16 March, Egyptian expatriates will begin voting in the country's 2018 presidential elections at Egyptian consulates and embassies on six continents around the world.

Here is what to know about voting from any of 121 countries abroad, which will continue until 18 March.

Asia

There are 38 polling stations in 33 countries including Saudi Arabia, China, South and North Korea.

Africa

There are 39 polling stations in 39 countries including Tunisia, Algeria, Ethiopia and Sudan.

Europe

There are 39 polling stations in 34 countries including France, UK, Germany and Turkey.

North America

There are 10 polling stations in 5 countries including the United States, Canada and Mexico.

South America

There are 9 polling stations in 9 countries including Brazil, Colombia and Uruguay.

Australia

There are 3 polling stations in Australia.



Voting in the election will not be locally available to Egyptians residing in Libya, Yemen, Somalia or Syria.

The polling stations will be open from 9 AM to 9 PM local time.

In late February, Egypt's National Elections Authority (NEA) approved President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Moussa Mostafa Moussa, the head of the Ghad Party, as the final candidates in the upcoming presidential elections.

Run-offs, if they are to take place, are set for 19-21 April for Egyptians abroad. If no run-offs are necessary, the winner will be announced on 2 April.
