Egyptian meteorologists expect mild wintry weather to hold out across Egypt until early next week as temperatures are expected to gradually rise through Monday.

Wide areas of the country choked under dust on Wednesday as a sandstorm swept the country as temperatures dropped some 10 degrees.

Temperatures in the capital Cairo and the Nile Delta will remain moderately cool on Saturday, with lows of 15 and highs of 23-24.

The mercury will gradually rise through Monday, hitting highs of 29 with lows remaining consistent, according to the forcast published by the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) on its official website.

Cities along Egypt's northern coast will experience highs of 21-22 on Saturday and lows of 14-16. Temperatures there will remain slightly stable through the next three days.

Temperatures in the northern part of Upper Egypt will slightly rise on Saturday to hit highs 26 and lows of 12, and will continue to rise by 2-4 degrees into early next week.

Egypt's south will see highs of 31 on Saturday and cold lows of 15. The region will also see an average rise of 2-3 in highs and 1-2 in lows in the next few days.
