Egypt expressed condolences to Algeria over a military plane crash that killed 257 people on Wednesday, the Egyptian foreign ministry has said.
In Algeria's deadliest ever air disaster, the plane crashed and caught fire on Wednesday near Boufarik airport southwest of the capital Algiers.
Most of those killed were army personnel and members of their families, officials said.
The Egyptian foreign ministry extended condolences to the families of the victims, stressing Cairo's solidarity with "the government and the brotherly people of Algeria in this adversity," the ministy said in a statement published on its official Facebook page on Wednesday.
