Temperatures expected to ease in Egypt starting Friday: EMA

Most parts of the country witnessed hot weather Wednesday, with temperatures reaching 38 degrees Celsius in Cairo


Egypt's Meteorological Authority (EMA) head Ahmed Abed Aal told Ahram Online Wednesday that the heat wave experienced in Egypt over the past few days is expected to ease starting Friday.

Most parts of the country witnessed hot weather Wednesday, with temperatures reaching 38 degrees Celsius in Cairo.

"Moderate weather is expected along the northern coast starting Friday until Sunday, with lower levels of humidity," Abdel Aal said.

However, the official said that temperatures Thursday are expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius in Cairo.

Starting Friday, according to Abdel Aal, highs will drop to 35 degrees Celsius.

Temperatures Wednesday are as follows:

Cairo: 38-26
Alexandria: 32-26
Nile Delta: 38-25
North Sinai: 32-22
South Sinai: 37-27
Upper Egypt: 40-25
