Ahram Online, Wednesday 5 Sep 2018
The off Biennale is curated by Simon Nijami, and will run for a month and two weeks in several venues

The second edition of Something Else, an off-Biennale group show, will take place at Darb 1718 starting 1 November and will run for 45 days.

Over 100 local and international artists will present works on this year’s theme that asks, “What if it did not happen?”

“Artists, curators, performers, musicians and art connoisseurs are invited to imagine a world that would be different because history took another path,” the exhibition statement reads.

The show is curated by Simon Nijami, with artistic direction from Moataz Nasr, founder of Darb 1718.

The full programme is yet to be announced, but promises exhibitions and performances in Darb 1718, as well as different Cairo venues, cultural centers, embassies, and abandoned shops.

Programme:
Something Else will begin on 1 November, to run until 15 December
Darb 1718, Kasr El-Shamaa St., Al-Fakhareen, Old Cairo
