Egypt's Sisi discusses African integration with former Liberian president

El-Sisi highlighted the importance of linking African countries with developed railways and road networks, to support economic and social integration in the continent


Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi stressed Wednesday that Egypt supports all efforts aimed at bringing about integration in Africa.

El-Sisi’s remarks came while meeting former Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates' Affairs Nabila Makram and the Liberian ambassador to Egypt, said presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.

El-Sisi highlighted the importance of linking African countries with developed railways and road networks, to support economic and social integration in the continent.

He urged intra-African trade, not only by making deals but implementing such deals.

Their talks also touched on the crisis of illegal immigration from the African continent, Rady added.

Ellen praised Egypt's constructive efforts aimed at tackling existing challenges in Africa, especially illegal immigration.
