The January 2019 issue of Al-Siyassa Al-Dawlya (International Politics) magazine published by Al-Ahram has been released with the main section entitled "Trump's America."

In the "Trump's America" section, the magazine explores new developments on the American stage after Trump's ascent to power. It discusses America's relations with Europe and Japan and the consequences of Trump's vision of the world and world order. It also tackles the recent midterm elections that created a divided US Congress.

In one of the articles, writer Ezzat Ibrahim, editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram Weekly and Ahram Online, examines the problems of the American economy under Trump. Reda Helal focuses on American-Chinese relations under Trump and former President Barack Obama.

The editorial of the magazine, written by Ahmed Nagi Kamha, chief editor of the magazine, is titled "Identity, Thought and Culture in the face of Complexity in International Relations."

The studies section of the magazine includes four pieces: "AI and International Crisis" by Amira Tawadros; "Strategic Caution in the Middle East" by Ayman Ibrahim El-Dessouky; "Reinforcing Military Power in Developing Countries," by Reda Mohamed Helal; and "Sino-Egyptian Relations: An Example of South-South Cooperation" by Mahmoud Zakaria.

In the articles section the magazine, Albdul-Aleem Mohammed tackles the "Yellow Vest" protests in France and the end of the welfare state, Hanan Torky examines Israeli efforts to delink UNRWA and the Palestinian cause, and Mostafa Fouda explores issues of climate change and the possibility of managing climate-based risks.

The magazine chose Ambassador Nabila Makram, minister of immigration as the person of the issue. Aly Bakr interviewed Makram for the magazine.

The strategic studies section tackles the issue of the future of collective security. It discusses NATO's future, and that of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
