Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed with his Albanian counterpart Ilir Meta in Cairo on Wednesday ways to boost Egyptian-Albanian bilateral relations, the Egyptian presidency announced.

The two presidents also discussed a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest including the war on terrorism and irregular migration.

President Meta expressed his happiness to be visiting Egypt and thanked the Egyptian people for their warm reception and hospitality. He added that his country is keen to boost bilateral ties with Egypt, which he said is one of the pillars of stability and security in the Middle East and the Mediterranean.

During a press conference held at the Egyptian Presidential Palace in Heliopolis, the Albanian president offered his condolence to the Egyptian people for the deadly train crash that took place in Cairo's Ramses railway station earlier on Wednesday.
