Egypt's Sisi discusses bilateral, intra-African cooperation with Ghana's parliament speaker

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi discussed boosting bilateral relations and inter-African cooperation with Ghana's visiting parliament speaker Aaron Mike Oquaye, an Egyptian presidency spokesman said.

The two leaders stressed on the importance of boosting inter-African trade and strengthening bilateral economic and security ties and boosting mutiual trade and investment .

El-Sisi now currently holds the rotating presidency of the 55-nation African Union .

They also discussed strengthening parliamentary ties to bolster "the foundations of democracy, political pluralism and… African solidarity" between peoples of the continent, spokesman Bassam Rady said in a statement.

El-Sisi said his country is keen to support Ghana's development efforts, providing support in capacity building as well as technical assistance .
