Sisi congratulates Greek PM on assuming office

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi congratulated on Monday Greece's new Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on taking office.

In a phone call, Sisi lauded the recent progress in relations with Greece at all levels. He also referred to tripartite cooperation mechanisms between Egypt, Greece and Cyprus.

Presidential spokesperson Bassam Rady said that the president had invited the Greek prime minister to visit Cairo to discuss ways to boost bilateral cooperation, along with tackling regional issues of mutual interest.

For his part, Mitsotakis said that he is very keen on enhancing relations with Egypt in many fields.

He also praised Egypt's efforts to counter terrorism and illegal immigration, noting that these efforts brought about stability and security in Egypt, Middle East and Europe.
