Park tight-lipped on South Korea retirement

Manchester United winger Park Ji-Sung said on Sunday that he will make an announcement about his international future with South Korea at the end of the Asian Cup

The 29-year-old is currently in the Qatari capital Doha preparing for his side's opening group match against Bahrain on Monday.

Prior to arriving in Qatar, Park's father told South Korean media that the Asian Cup would be his son's last major tournament in the red shirt of his national side.

Quizzed about the reports on Sunday, however, Park was non-committal.

"At the moment I can't say anything," he told reporters.

"I will say after the Asian Cup."

South Korea lost out to Qatar in the battle to organise the 2022 World Cup when FIFA's executive committee announced the hosts in December, but Park insisted he felt no ill will towards the Gulf state.

"I'm sorry about the result of the 2022 World Cup (bidding competition)," said Park.

"But it is a different story. The Asian Cup is the Asian Cup, and I believe through hosting the Asian Cup, Qatar will learn about the organisation and different aspects of the event."
