PM says Egypt serious about replacing diesel-fueled microbuses with gas-powered ones
MENA, , Sunday 13 Oct 2019

Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stressed on Sunday that the government is serious in its plan to replace diesel-fueled microbuses with natural gas-powered ones.

Madbouly made the remarks during a meeting with chairman of Toyota Tsusho company Ichiro Kashitani, which Investment Minister Sahar Nasr attended.

Cabinet spokesman Nader Saad said the meeting comes as part of a series of meetings the PM is holding with representatives of micro-bus production companies.

Madbouly said the replacement process should be carried out by local companies to boost the national industry.

Toyota company officials, who attended the meeting, said the company is ready to meet the Egyptian market's needs and replace old microbuses with new ones running on natural gas.
