The special screening of Ken Loach's drama 'Sorry We Missed You' on 5 November will mark the opening of the 12th edition of the Panorama of the European Film (6-16 November)
With a script by Paul Laverty, the film tells the story of "Ricky and his family who have been fighting an uphill struggle against debt since the 2008 financial crash," according to the official brief of the film.
The film won Golden Hugo for best actress (Debbie Honeywood) at theChicago International Film Festival 2019, the audience award at theSan Sebastián International Film Festival 2019, and was nominatedfor the Palme d'Or at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival.
The 12th edition of the Panorama of the European Film will take place between 6 and 16 November with 75 films from 30 countries.
This year, the Panorama will introduce a new section, Here and There: Films in Motion, which embraces non-European films.
The other sections in the Panorama programming are: Main Narrative Features, Emerging Directors, Documentaries, Carte Blanch, the Children and Family section, Special Screenings and an Agnes Varda retrospective.
