Zamalek coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic said on Friday that he will fight to achieve a positive result against DR Congo's champions TP Mazembe in the first round of the African Champions League’ group stage.
The Whites will open their Champions League campaign with the match against TP Mazembe at DR Congo's Lubumbashi on Saturday.
"The game against Mazembe will be very difficult but we will fight to achieve a positive result," Micho told the pre-game press conference.
"We will face some difficulties during the game like playing on artificial turf, the climate, and the fans’ attendance, so we arrived in DR Congo early to adapt with the atmosphere," the Zamalek coach added.
"The game is important especially as it’s at the beginning of our group stage campaign and we know well the opponents’ performance, as the TP Mazembe coach is my friend," Micho said.
Zamalek have been suffering from a poor run in the Egyptian Premier League, including losing to bottom-placed Enppi, making a positive result in DR Congo all the more important.
