Egypt partakes in UNCCT's advisory board meeting

Mohamed Idris, Egypt's ambassador to UN, said Egypt appreciates the UNCCT's role in combating terrorism and building the member states' capacities to face the dangers of terrorism.


Egypt's Permanent Mission at the United Nations participated in the 19th meeting of the Advisory Board of the UN Counter-Terrorism Center (UNCCT) at the body's headquarters in New York to review its plan for 2020.

The UN secretary-general wished that the UNCCT member states would maximize their benefits from the center and continue their required support to it.

He congratulated Egypt and Spain for being the co-facilitator of the seventh review of the Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in 2020, wishing success for them.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Idris, Egypt's ambassador to UN, said Egypt appreciates the UNCCT's role in combating terrorism and building the member states' capacities to face dangers of terrorism.

Idris affirmed the importance of twinning among the center's program, the UN strategy, the center's recommendations and its member states' demands.

He said Egypt looks forward to working with the all member states to develop a effective tool in fighting terrorism.
