Masry face Morocco's Berkane, Pyramids meet Zanaco in Confed Cup quarters

Egypt's Masry face a tough quarter-final clash against last season's runners-up RS Berkane while debutants Pyramids will meet Zambian side Zanaco in the African Confederation Cup.

Wednesday's last-eight draw, which took place in Cairo, pitted Masry, who are struggling on the domestic front, against a team that came close to winning the Confederation Cup last term.

Berkane missed out on Africa's secondary club competition after losing to Egypt's Zamalek on penalties following a 1-1 aggregate draw.

Masry finished second in their Confederation Cup group with 10 points but their inconsistency in the Egyptian league has cast doubts over their ability to challenge for the continental title.

They lie 12th in the 18-team table with 16 points from 13 matches as their hopes to finish in the top four faded.

Pyramids are dreaming big on their maiden African appearance, with winger Omar Gaber saying they are seeking to go all the way. They have been impressive in the group stage, collecting 15 points to finish on top, ahead of compatriots Masry.

They will face a Zanaco side that finished second in Group C on 10 points, just one behind Berkane.

Libya's Al-Nasr meet Morocco's Hassania Agadir and Nigerian side Enyimba take on Guinea's Horoya AC in the other quarter-final clashes.
