Egypt’s Coptic Orthodox Church said it is shutting down all churches nationwide under preventive measures implemented by the state to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic, a statement by the Church said.

The vast majority of Christians in Egypt belong to the Coptic Orthodox Church.
