Cairo’s Youth Theatre goes online with acting workshop

Start Your Dream is an online workshop of short lectures covering a variety of theatre topics


Cairo’s Youth Theatre took its acting workshop online, initiating a series of educational videos to be posted at the Ministry of Culture’s YouTube channel.

The first teaser of the initiative was released by the Youth Theatre today.

Titled Start Your Dream (Ebda’ Helmak), the online workshop will consist of short lectures covering a variety of theatre issues, aiming at the development of young talents interested to explore the field.

Numerous theatre specialists will share their expertise during the workshop,presenting topics on acting, drama, stage performance, etc.

The online initiative is an extension of the workshops held by Cairo’s Youth Theatre over the past years.

Spearheaded by the theatre’s director Adel Hassan, previous workshops shed light on numerous young talents who explored their acting abilities.

Among the achievements of the Youth Theatre’s acting workshops was the play Beit Al-Ashbah (The Ghost House) performed by young actors in 2019. The play was written and directed by Mahmoud Gamal Hedindi.

Start Your Dream workshop is part of the Ministry of Culture's Between Your Hands initiative, launched during the shutdown of all cultural institutions due to the precautions taken to curb the spread of coronavirus.
