Egypt’s Coptic Orthodox Church officially resumed on Mondaypublic masses, prayers and funerals in churches across the country after more than four months of suspension due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The Church resumed services after preparing churches to receive the public, with social distancing measures implemented including making sure that only person sits on each bench and having stickers on the ground to indicate where congregants should stand.
The Church has issued instructions stating that mass will be held every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Egypt's Christians make up about 10-14 percent of the country's 100 million-plus population, with the vast majority of Christians in Egypt belonging to the Coptic Orthodox Church.
Egypt suspended mass prayers at mosques and churches in March to slow the infection rate of the virus.
In late June, the Ministry of Religious Endowments reopened mosquesunderprecautionary measures.for regular prayers and continued to order mosques shut for the traditionally crowded Friday sermons.
