British newspaper The Independent published an article written by Egypt and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah in which he drew attention to the negative impact of the coronavirus on the lives of refugee children.

Salah, the Premier League champion 2019/2020, became the first Ambassador for Instant Network Schools (INS) last February - which connect refugee and host country students to a quality digital education.

The INS was set up in 2013 by Vodafone Foundation and UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, to give young refugees, host communities and their teachers access to digital learning content and the internet, improving the quality of education in some of the most marginalised communities in Africa.

Salah said he sees that the world’s displaced children risk losing out on a quality education, and coronavirus just made it harder.

“Unless everyone plays their part, generations of children – millions of them in some of the world’s poorest regions – will face a bleak future,” read Salah’s article in the Independent.

Salah a.k.a the Egyptian King joined Liverpool in 2017 which was a turning point in his career as he blasted with the Reds and helped them achieve the Premier League after nearly 30 years of their last title, and he also had a big role in clinching the prestigious UEFA Champions League in 2019.
