Japan drilling firm says politics will delay starting Egypt oil block output in May

Egypt's political instability means company will miss its production start-date


Japan's AOC Holdings said on Thursday it will be difficult to achieve its goal of starting production in May from the offshore Northwest October block in the northern Gulf of Suez due to the nation's political situation.

The company had said in November it might delay output from the field amid political instability.
