Egypt’s Health ministry: 12 people injured in a train accident in Mansoura

The Egyptian National Railways Authority added that there is currently an investigation into the accident


At least 12 people were injured in a train accident at Mansoura train station in Daqahliya on Tuesday, the health ministry announced.

The Egyptian National Railways Authority said that the accident happened when the rear part of the last train car of the Mansoura-Mataria train collided with the concrete buffer stops on the railway while it was on its way out from the railyard to the train platform.

The authority added that the train was delayed by 15 minutes and there is currently an investigation into the accident.

According to the ministry of health, 12 ambulances were dispatched to the train station and transferred the injured to receive treatment at Mansoura International Hospital.

The ministry added that injuries varied between fractures and abrasions with no fatalities.
