Four Egyptian governorates to suspend schools, universities due to bad weather

Egypt is witnessing a week of unstable weather that is expected to last until Friday


Schools and universities will be suspended in Cairo, Giza, Damietta and Marsa Matrouh on Wednesday after the Egyptian Meteorological Authority predicted a wave of unstable weather that is expected to last until Friday.

Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel-Aal announced on Tuesday that schools and universities would be suspended in the governorate on Wednesday, and that the situation is yet to be determined for Thursday.

Alexandria governorate has already suspended its educational establishments on Tuesday but will resume activities tomorrow.

Egypt is expected to witness light to heavy rainfall as well as thunderstorms in some areas.

On Wednesday, the northern coast will witness moderate to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms, while the Nile Delta, Cairo, Giza, the Suez Canal cities, northern Upper Egypt and some parts of South Sinai will witness mild to moderate rainfall.

On Thursday, the northern coast will see mild to moderate rainfall, while Cairo and the Nile Delta will witness light rainfall.

On Friday, the northern coast is expected to see mild rainfall.
