Kuwait has been exerting significant efforts to resolve the dispute between Qatar and the Arab Quartet

Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber sent a message to Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi affirming the strong relations between the two countries, the Kuwaiti official news agency KUNA reported.

Kuwait’s foreign minister Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Sabah delivered the emir’s message to El-Sisi on Saturday.

The message highlighted the strong relations between the peoples of the two countries and Kuwait's desire to coordinate means to enhance bilateral relations in various fields in accordance with the latest regional and international developments.

Egypt and Kuwait share warm relations at all levels, including in political and diplomatic fields, before and after the death of former emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber late in September.

Kuwait has been exerting significant efforts, especially during the past few months, to resolve the Gulf crisis between Qatar and the Arab Quartet of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE.

The Kuwaiti efforts have been hailed by the majority of parties to the dispute, including Egypt and Qatar.

The Kuwaiti foreign minister also announced supporting Egypt’s stance over the disputed Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), which represents a matter of national security.

His remarks came in a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry in November.
