Title holders Ahly will be looking to extend their lead in the Egyptian Premier League when they face rivals El-Entag El-Harby on Tuesday.

The Reds lead the league table with 13 points from five matches; passing archrivals Zamalek, who have the same points with goal difference.

Ahly opened the domestic competition with three successive wins over Maqassa, Ghazl El-Mahalla, and Ittihad of Alexandria before tying with Wadi Degla on 1 January.

On Saturday, the Cairo giants returned to winning ways after beating Ceramica Cleopatra 2-0 to get a morale boost ahead of Tuesday’s match.

On the other side, El-Entag El-Harby, who lie third from the bottom, are looking to rescue their season after their humble start of the season.

Out of five played matches so far, El-Entag won a single game, held to a draw in another, and lost the remaining three.

The recent recovery of right-back Mohamed Hani and defender Rami Rabia from the coronavirus will boost Ahly against El-Entag.

El-Entag coach Mokhtar Mokhtar, a former player and coach of Ahly, will be relying on his influential striker, Bassem Morsi, to hit Ahly’s net, which has received just one goal since the start of the season.
