Egypt sent on Monday a load of medical supplies and medicines to Jordan. The shipment was sent in collaboration with the health ministry on a military transport plane as per the directives of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to assist Arab countries during the coronavirus crisis, the Egyptian Armed Forces announced.

“The aid comes in light of Arab national ties and Egypt's firm stance alongside its Arab brothers, solidarity and full cooperation with them in the face of adversity and crises,” the Armed Forces spokesperson said in a statement.

President El-Sisi arrived on Monday in Amman to discuss bilateral and regional issues upon an invitation from King Abdullah II of Jordan.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus, Egypt has sent several medical aids to various Arab countries, including Sudan and Iraq.

Jordan has recorded 315,957 infections, 299,000 recoveries, and 4,145 fatalities since the outbreak of the coronavirus.
