Hazr Tagawol (Curfew) by Amir Ramses brought Ilham Shahine the Best Actress Award in the 42nd Cairo International Film Festival
One of Egypt's 2020 productions, Hazr Tagawol (Curfew), will be available on OSN TV, as well as its streaming platforms, starting 29 January.
Still out in some theaters, the film is directed by Amir Ramses. The protagonist is depicted by actress Ilham Shaheen, who won the Best Actress Award in the 42nd Cairo International Film Festival.
The movie was screened within the International Competition in December 2020. Shaheen shared the award with Natalya Pavlenkova for her role in Conference.
Produced by Red Star Productions, the story of Curfew takes place on 14 August 2013 during a state enforced curfew, unveiling the emotions of the film's characters resulting from unusual circumstances as they interact in one location.
In a previous interview with Ahram Online, Ramses, who is also an artistic director of the Gouna Film Festival, explained that “the film has a social, not a political, context."
Curfew stars Ilham Shaheen, Mahmoud El-Leithy, Amina Khalil, and Ahmed Magdy.
