Digital residency will be given to eight Egyptian and German artists for three months

The Goethe Institute Cairo has opened the call for application for the second round of the Digital Residency Programme until 10 March 2021.

Digital residency will be given to eight Egyptian and German artists for three months starting 1 April 2021.

The programme is meant to support artists from a variety of artistic backgrounds in their projects and artistic ideas that depend in one way or another on a digital component, either in the production or the way they are presented and distributed.

The selected artists will receive a grant to help them with their projects. They will also have the opportunity to develop their ideas with prominent artists experienced in integrating digital technology into artworks.

All artists in the disciplines of visual arts, music and sound, theatre, performing arts, and dance are eligible to apply, provided that they will be registering initial ideas or works under development. Completed or previously presented projects are ineligible.

Projects developed in the first round of the programme were presented and discussed live on the Facebook page of the Goethe Institute Cairo last month.
