Ahly filed a complaint on Monday with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) against the recent decision regarding fan attendance during the upcoming Vita Club game.

The Reds travelled to DR Congo in order to face Vita Club in the fourth round of the CAF Champions League on Tuesday.

"Ahly’s complaint came in conjunction with CAF officials declaring that all of the African Champions League matches are going to be played without fans to preserve equality among the teams," read Ahly’s official statement.

The Cairo giants also said that they had played in Tanzania against Simba with the presence of 25,000 fans, but Ahly were prevented from having fan attendance during their games against Sudan's Merrikh on 16 February and Vita Club on 6 March.

"Vita Club’s coach announced that the game will be played at 2pm in 33-degree temperature in an artificial grass stadium, and Ahly players are not familiar with these conditions," Ahly said.

"This came as a response to playing the home game in Cairo at 7pm in cold weather, which is the time that CAF decided for the Champions League games in Cairo, including Vita Club's game," the statement added.
