El-Badri announced on Thursday his 28-man list for the Pharaohs’ two clashes next week against Kenya and Comoros in the Nations Cup qualifiers
Pharaohs coach Hossam El-Badri highlighted the important role of his team's foreign-based players, urging them to prove their worth to the Egyptian national team.
El-Badri announced on Thursday his 28-man list for the Pharaohs’ two clashes next week against Kenya and Comoros in the Nations Cup qualifiers.
The list includes five foreign players:Premier League trio Mohamed Salah, Mohamed Elneny, Mahmoud ' Trezeguet' Hassan, Galatasaray shining striker Mostafa Mohamed, and Ittihad Jeddah defender Ahmed Hegazi.
"The foreign-based players have to produce a good performance and give an added value to the team," El-Badri told reporters on Thursday.
"They are asked to produce a different performance from their counterparts who plays in the domestic league."
"They have a great responsibility, especially since we have a target to achieve."
Maqassa midfielder Mohamed Ibrahim and Zamalek forward Youssef Ibrahim produced a string of strong displays with their teams in the domestic league, but they fell out of favour with the Pharaohs coach.
"Both are good players. They may have a role with the Pharaohs in the coming period," the coach said.
The Pharaohs will face Kenya away from home on 25 March before hosting Comoros four days later in Cairo.
Egypt is leading Group G with seven points, on level with Comoros.
The first two teams in each group will reach next year's African Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
