Sisi orders gov't to provide cybersecurity training to new capital's employees

Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has instructed the government to give adequate attention to the cybersecurity of the New Administrative Capital's IT infrastructure.

During a meeting on Monday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the ministers of housing and communication and information technology, El-Sisi also instructed building effective employee training programmes to improve cybersecurity skills and awareness among the employees to be transferred to the new capital this year.

The meeting, which reviewed the efforts underway to relocate government bodies to the new capital, was also attended by head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Ihab El-Far, Presidential Adviser for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed and Director of the Armed Forces Information Systems Department Yasser Abu Mandour.

El-Sisi was briefed on the implementation status of the IT infrastructure at the new capital's government district buildings, including data transfer networks, unified data platforms, digital correspondence and archiving systems, audio and visual equipment, CCTV cameras, and electronic gates, according to a statement by presidential spokesman Bassam Rady.
