President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Thursday directed the government to provide full support to the public education system with a view to achieving the targeted quality of education; via expanding national projects that are in connection with the public university system nationwide.
This came during President Sisi’s meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal, Presidential Adviser for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed, Presidential Adviser for Financial Affairs Mohamed Amin, and President of Ain Shams University Mahmoud el Matini.
President Sisi instructed the officials concerned to upgrade and re-plan the Ain Shams University hospitals area as part of a plan to establish a medical city for the university, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.
In this regard, the president highlighted the importance of providing the necessary financial allocations for this vital project that is expected to serve thousands of patients.
Sisi also issued directives to the government to develop the main axes of Cairo’s Abbasiya Square in order to avoid traffic congestion, and facilitate the movement of Ain Shams university students and citizens.
During the meeting, the higher education minister reviewed 427 ongoing and future projects at 27 public universities across the country at a total cost of EGP 36 billion, said the spokesman.
