President Sisi stresses Egypt's readiness to help Libya

During a meeting with a number of senior army commanders following Friday prayers, the president said that Egypt has the experience and capabilities to assist the Libyan administration


Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi asserted that Egypt is ready to help its western neighbor Libya to protect its strategic borders.

During a meeting with a number of senior army commanders following Friday prayers, El-Sisi said that Egypt has the experience and capabilities to assist the Libyan administration in this regard.

He added that Egypt could export from 1,000 to 2,000 MW of electricity to the North African country.

El-Sisi also discussed with commanders of the Armed Forces some issues related to national security and challenges which Egypt faces.

He greeted the Armed Forces on the 10th of Ramadan (October 1973 War) victory, saying the Egyptians appreciate the Armed Forces' sacrifices and efforts to maintain national security.

Moreover, the president lauded the great efforts exerted by army and police personnel over the past period to bring stability in the country and counter terrorism.

Regarding the national project to develop the Egyptian countryside, El-Sisi said that the project aims to upgrade all components of infrastructure, including water, electricity, natural gas, sanitation, canal lining, road paving, and other services.

El-Sisi performed Friday prayers at Tantawi Mosque alongside Defence Minister Mohamed Zaki, Armed Forces Chief of Staff Mohamed Farid, Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa, Mufti Shawki Allam, Cairo governor, and Armed Forces top brass.
