Egypt's National Training Academy (NTA) signed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding with South Korea's Advanced Institute of Science and Technology for the establishment of an educational institution modeled after KAIST in Egypt.
KAIST is one of the top science and Technology University in Republic of Korea (ROK) to foster elite human resources in science and technology.
The online signing of the MoU is an initial work for installing ‘KAIST Egypt', which includes conducting a preliminary feasibility study.
South Korea's Ambassador in Cairo Hong Jin-wook met with NTA Executive Director Rasha Ragheb a day earlier and celebrated the signing of the MoU, according to an embassy statement,.

Ragheb noted that she hopes to successfully model the case of KAIST, a source of South Korea's excellent technology.
Hong and Ragheb have also exchanged views on the progress of other projects conducted between other Korean training institutions and NTA.
Two Korean institutions -- National Human Resources Development Institute and Korea Institute of Human Resources Development in Science and Technology -- signed MOU with NTA in human resources development in the public sector in September 2020, and science and technology human resources development in March 2021 respectively.
