Egypt and France sign Rafale jet fighters deal

Egypt has signed a deal with France to buy 30 French Rafale jet fighters, a statement by the Egyptian Armed Forces read on Tuesday.

The deal, signed between the Egyptian Armed Forces and the French Dassault Aviation company, aims to develop the state's capabilities, according to the statement.

The contract will be financed via financing loan of a minimum duration of 10 years, the statement added.

In 2015, Egypt and France reached a deal to provide the Egyptian Air Force with 24 Rafale aircraft.

Rafale is characterised by high combat capabilities and an advanced multiple armament system. It is capable of carrying out long-range missions.
