Egypt's House of Representatives is set to review the outcomes of the country's national strategy for human rights on Sunday, the parliamentary Human Rights Committee said in a statement on Wednesday.

The review will be carried out during a meeting between the parliamentary committee and the Technical Secretariat of the Egyptian Supreme Standing Committee for Human Rights (SSCHR).

The SSCHR, formed by a cabinet decree in 2018, is chaired by the foreign minister and includes various ministries and concerned national authorities as members.

The national strategy aims to promote Egyptian citizens' rights and establish the principle of equality through sustainable cooperation between all national parties, including civil society.

Chairman of Committee for Human Rights MP Tarek Radwan said his committee was created to ensure the application of all civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights across executive institutions as stipulated in the constitution and international human rights agreements.
