ITIDA launches DX4SW initiative to help software companies follow latest digital trends

The initiative aims at supporting digital transformation and the enterprise agility of the IT sector in the Egyptian market by helping software development companies achieve their digital strategies and business objectives


The Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) announced on Tuesday the launch of the Digital Transformation 4 Software Development Companies (DX4SW) initiative with an objective of helping local software development companies follow the latest global digital transformation trends.

ITIDA launched the initiative through its arm Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC).

The DX4SW initiative also aims at supporting the digital transformation and enterprise agility of the IT sector in the Egyptian market, by helping software development companies achieve their digital strategies and business objectives.

The DX4SW initiative comes in cooperation with the Chamber of Information Technology & Communication (CIT) along with the Egyptian Information, Telecommunications, Electronics and Software Alliance (EITESAL).

It's reference architecture and DX guide focus on the development of five main aspects, including company performance and outcome, processes, people, information systems, and technology, leveraging SECC’s expertise in applying international quality standards in the software industry, according to ITIDA.

According to DX4SW's product structure, SECC will present an innovative, technology-enabled and capability-based reference architecture a offering a service roadmap to help these companies optimise its resources and meet the DX global trends, following an initial capability assessment for the beneficiary companies, according to ITIDA.

It added that both CIT and EITESAL will subsidise their member companies to join the initiative according to their size, offering 80 percent to the small enterprises, 70 percent to medium-sized and 60 percent to large enterprises.

ITIDA has set out the eligibility criteria, including that the beneficiary company has at least three years of work experience; it must be an Egyptian company working in the ICT field; it must be registered in ITIDA’s companies’ online database and that it is a member in the aforementioned NGOs.
