Egypt’s International Theatre Fetsival for the Youth of the South presents a variety of theatrical works between 7-11 June.

Headed by Haitham El-Hawary, the festival's aim is to decentralise culture and bring theatre to Egypt's southern governorates.

Currently held in Assiut, the festival has drawn significant interest from the audience with performances like Al-Aragos, which was presented yesterday thanks to organising efforts by the Cultural Development Fund.

Other events include The Storytelling Bus and the Mobile Library presented by the artist Rabie Zain in cooperation with the Walks of Life Sector at the Misr El Kheir Foundation.

Meanwhile, numerous creative games that invite children and youth to participate are meant to stimulate positive behavior and develop their creative abilities, fostering their freedom of self-expression.

Many of the performances are taking place at the Assiut Culture Palace in addition to other locations and open air venues.
