Egyptian Premier League clubs have agreed to sell the TV broadcasting rights for the 2012/2013 for LE12.8 million per channel.

Ahly, Zamalek, ENPPI, Ittihad of Alexandria and Haras El-Hodoud, representing the Egyptian Premier League clubs in the TV rights committee, held a meeting on Thursday and agreed the price.

The five club's representatives said they wanted at least five channels to bid for the broadcasting rights. If less than five channels asked to buy the broadcasting rights they will hold a public tender to sell them.

They also agreed to sell the rights to foreign channels at the same price of LE12.8 million.

The Egyptian Premier League clubs' representatives also revealed that they would donate 3 per cent of the TV rights to the families of those who died in the Port Said disaster.

Egyptian state-owned television will pay LE33 million to broadcast league games on their channels and radio stations.

The price is a 30 per cent rise on the previous season when the rights were sold for LE9 million.

The 2012-2013 Egyptian Premier League season kicks off on 17 October after being suspending for one season because of Port Said massacre.
