A campaign for a constitution that represents all Egyptians and expresses the spirit of the January 25 Revolution will be launched by Constitution Party founder Mohamed ElBaradei and Egyptian Popular Current leader Hamdeen Sabbahi on Tuesday.

The event will be held at the Journalists' Syndicate in downtown Cairo at 8pm. Prominent political and national figures, as well as intellectuals, artists and other public personalities will attend, according to the Constitution Party's Facebook page.

The Administrative Court on Tuesday passed the case on fate of the Constituent Assembly to the High Constitutional Court, leaving the future of the assembly in doubt.

The assembly might be dissolved because its members were selected by the People's Assembly which was subsequently declared null and void.

The assembly has come under fire from liberals and leftists for its perceived dominance by Islamists. Many have called for its dissolution and replacement by a more balanced drafting body that reflects Egypt's diverse socio-political make up.

Thousand of people took to the streets on Friday to protest against current composition of the assembly.

Sabbahi and ElBaradei issued a statement in September calling for a boycott of the assembly and urging its members to withdraw.

The statement said the assembly suffered from "the absence of a basic understanding of things that concern the Egyptian citizen, such as basic freedom, economic and social rights."
